Canyon River Dental is thrilled to welcome Dr. Scott Stringham to our practice in May 2012!
Dr. Scott Stringham was born in Utah and grew up in Montana. During high school he enjoyed Boy Scouts, football, and river rafting. Growing up he worked managing movie theaters, as a House Page for the State of Montana, and as a river guide on the Salmon River. At 19 he served a two-year mission for the LDS Church to Argentina where he became fluent in Spanish.
After his mission he studied Human Physiology at Brigham Young University, where he met his wife Jane. He graduated from BYU with honors and as a member of PHI Theta Kappa National College Honors Society. During his studies he worked managing movie theaters again and for two years as a 911 Fire and Medical Dispatcher. For dental school, he chose to attend the University of Southern California, where he graduated fourth in his class and was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon the National Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Stringham and his family spent the next 5 years in the Los Angeles area, where he worked in a busy, high-end, dental practice and was awarded the “America’s Top Dentists” award from the National Consumer Bureau. Although Dr. Stringham and his family loved being near the beach, Disneyland, and the San Diego Zoo, the yearning to be around family was too strong and they chose to move back to Utah in 2011. Dr. Stringham and Jane now have four children: Ellie (11), William (8), Brennen (5), and Peter (3).
Dr. Stringham chose dentistry as a profession because he was able to learn medicine and be a doctor, but still have time to be with his family. With dentistry, Dr. Stringham is able to help his patients feel better and protect their teeth for a life time, but also to give them the self-confidence that comes from a great smile. He specializes in shot-less, drill-less air-abrasion fillings, high-end cosmetic work, implant restorations and state-of-the-art root canals. When he is presenting your treatment, you will often hear him say, “If this was my mouth I would” or “if you were my mom I would do this for you”. His goal is to treat you like family.
